Diversity on the coast: the country's best LGTBI beaches

10 September, 2025

Spain reinforces its position as one of the most inclusive LGTBIQA+ destinations in the world, even with its sun and beach offerings. According to a list published by Idealista, 12 sandy beaches throughout the country are notable for combining natural beauty with an atmosphere of respect, freedom and diversity. Spaces where identity needs no explanation and where inclusion comes naturally under the sun.

Sitges, Ibiza, Torremolinos or Maspalomas are well-known names for this segment, but so are enclaves such as Pinedo beach in Valencia, the Liencres Dunes in Cantabria or Cala Cantalar in Alicante, which have become known as meeting points on the Spanish coast. Some of these beaches have themed beach bars and Pride-related celebrations; other, more discreet, locations opt for nudist environments and a connection with nature, such as Racó del Conill or Artola.

LGTBIQA+ tourism has become a strategic segment for many Spanish destinations. Beyond spending or loyalty, what drives thousands of travellers every summer is the possibility of enjoying themselves without prejudice. The Spanish coast, in all its geographical diversity, is aligned with this philosophy, offering sandy beaches where being oneself is the norm.

The 12 beaches:

  1. Mar Bella (Barcelona)
  2. Maspalomas (Gran Canaria)
  3. Es Cavallet (Ibiza)
  4. Pinedo (Valencia)
  5. L'Home Mort (Sitges)
  6. Balmins (Sitges)
  7. Dunes of Liencres (Cantabria)
  8. Artola Beach (Marbella)
  9. Racó del Conill (Villajoyosa)
  10. El Bajondillo (Torremolinos)
  11. La Tejita (Tenerife)
  12. Cantalar Cove (Alicante)
