Sierra Nevada invests 19 M € to modernize its ski resort
10 September, 2025The Sierra Nevada ski resort will allocate 19 million euros to a comprehensive modernisation plan for the 2025/26 winter season. The investment, approved by Cetursa Sierra Nevada, will affect all operational areas, with significant improvements in slopes, lifts, catering and snowmaking systems. The announcement comes after a record season in which the resort achieved a turnover of 51 million euros, an Ebitda of 17 million euros and an operating profit of nine million euros.
Among the main innovations are three new snow grooming machines equipped with snowsat technology, which allows for more precise snow management. Two new transport mats will also be added for the Borreguiles beginners area and the gallery of the gondola lift will be renovated. As for snow production, 12 snow cannons will be installed, pending from the previous season, and a snowfactory container that will allow snow to be generated at temperatures of up to 20 °C.
In the hospitality sector, work has begun on the reconstruction of the Nevasol restaurant, with improvements in capacity, energy efficiency and accessibility. The plan also includes improvements to car parks and preliminary work for the future Mirlo Blanco park and a new urban ski lift in Pradollano.
