Five festivals that invite you to travel around Spain in September

10 September, 2025

September is arriving with an agenda full of celebrations combining folklore, gastronomy, music and popular culture in different parts of Spain. A selection provided by eBooking.com lists five festivals in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Murcia, Catalonia and La Rioja as ideal alternatives for those looking for getaways with a local identity. Interest in this type of event is growing every season, consolidating cultural tourism as one of the major trends in the sector.

In Jerez de la Frontera (30 August - 14 September), the Fiesta de la Vendimia pays tribute to Jerez's wine and culture with tastings, tours, flamenco shows, equestrian exhibitions and the traditional Pisa de la Uva (grape treading).

The Salamanca Fair ( 7 - 15 September) celebrates the Virgen de la Vega with more than a hundred activities: concerts, brass bands, parades and the 19th edition of the Street Arts Festival. On the 8th, the traditional Floral Offering takes place.

In Murcia, from the 9th to the 16th, the Moors and Christians Festival relives historical episodes such as the founding of the city and the handing over of the keys to Alfonso X. Highlights include the Medieval Camp, the great parade and the theatrical performances of the Moorish and Christian Embassies.

From the 23rd to the 28th, Barcelona celebrates its Mercè Festival, with castells, giants and big-head puppets, the Correfoc, concerts and the emblematic Piromusical on Montjuïc.

Finally, from the 20th to the 26th, Logroño hosts the Fiestas de la Vendimia Riojana or San Mateo, with the treading of the grapes, offering of the first grape juice, bull runs, floats, parades, music and tastings.
