Grupo Piñero: tourism with purpose drives efficiency and inclusion

How data is driving us towards a responsible future”, where he details how data analytics has become a central tool to move towards a more efficient, inclusive tourism that is aligned with the industry’s environmental and social challenges.
The analysis shows that this data-driven management has reduced the carbon footprint per guest to 18.4 kg CO₂ per stay, which is below 2018 levels. It also highlights the waste recovery, which reaches between 60 and 65% compared to 50% in 2022 and the figures of 97% of waste water reused and 95% of purchases from local suppliers.
This progress lays the foundation for the ESG Plan 2025-2028, in line with the 2030 sustainability goals. The company has also promoted social initiatives in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain, ranging from labour inclusion and educational programmes to forestation and environmental awareness projects.
According to Andrés Rosselló, Head of Sustainability, data-driven management “is transforming the way we do tourism, making it more responsible and efficient”.
