Low cost High Speed: Ouigo strengthens its routes in Spain

22 October, 2025

Ouigo steps on the accelerator in Spain. From 14th December, the French low-cost high-speed carrier will increase its offer by 14% with new daily frequencies on its main corridors. The operator seeks to respond to the growing demand and consolidate its position as an affordable high-speed alternative, expanding seats and strengthening its footprint in the domestic market.

The Madrid-Barcelona axis will have 12 daily trains, six in each direction, four of which will stop in Zaragoza. This increase means 20% more trains and around 370,000 additional seats per year. The Madrid-Murcia corridor will have a third daily return trip, while the connection with Malaga will have three frequencies in each direction, with an extra volume of 370,000 annual seats.

The Madrid-Seville line is also reinforced: from three to four frequencies in each direction, all stopping in Cordoba. The new services will depart from Sevilla-Santa Justa at 3:07 p.m. and from Madrid-Puerta de Atocha at 12:30. Tickets will be available from 9 October, covering travel until 2 August 2026. With this move, Ouigo confirms its firm commitment to the Spanish market, where it has been operating since May 2021.
