Jerez de la Frontera, Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2026

The Andalusian city invites you to savour its culinary tradition, its wines and its art of living 5 November, 2025

Jerez de la Frontera has been chosen as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2026, an accolade that rewards its ability to unite cuisine, wine, culture and hospitality. In January, during the next edition of Fitur, the city will take over from Alicante and begin a year full of gastronomic, oenological and cultural activities open to visitors.

Under the slogan “Come, bebe y ama Jerez”, [“Eat, drink and love Jerez”], the city presents a proposal that combines tradition and innovation: from the richness of its Andalusian recipes to the excellence of its sherry, recognised worldwide. Its cuisine reflects the character of the south: local produce, recipes with history and a way of enjoying life that turns every meal into a celebration.

In addition, the capital status will highlight sustainability, young talent and gastronomic trades, strengthening the link between tourism, culture and territory.

With its unique blend of flavours, heritage and flamenco art, in 2026 Jerez de la Frontera is preparing to offer an unforgettable journey through the culinary heart of Andalusia.
