Meliá opens a new hotel in an old cinema in Palma
19 November, 2025Meliá Hotels International has inaugurated the Palma Avenida hotel, located opposite Plaza de España and Parque de las Estaciones, in the heart of Palma. The establishment, which occupies the historic building of the old Cine Avenida, will undergo a dramatic renovation to adapt to the lifestyle brand Innside by Meliá, thus consolidating the group's commitment to quality urban tourism and connection with local culture
The new hotel, which preserves original elements such as the facade and the interior staircase, has 68 rooms and offers areas for events and meetings of up to 80 people, making it a versatile option for leisure and business travellers. Its strategic location, surrounded by restaurants, bars and boutiques and its proximity to the intermodal station guarantee a connected and dynamic experience in the heart of the city.
According to Gabriel Escarrer, president and CEO of Meliá, opening in Palma “means celebrating our Mallorcan origins and promote responsible tourism that inspires discovering the city from its authenticity”.
