Regenerative tourism: proposals to discover the most authentic Navarre

3 December, 2025

Navarre offers a new way of travelling for those seeking authentic experiences and a positive impact on the places they visit. The “Huella Positiva” [Positive Footprint] programme unites 15 regenerative proposals across the region, designed so that tourists can actively participate in local life and help improve the environment.

The activities make it possible to create a butterfly oasis in Elizondo, learn traditional stone construction in Bera, collaborate at a charcoal kiln in Ollogoyen, work on the restoration of walls or take part in environmental projects such as installing nest boxes for birds of prey in the Bardenas. It also includes initiatives linked to cultural heritage, such as restoring a historic corral in San Martín de Unx for wine use or connecting with the history of Intza through horses.

The aim is for visitors to experience Navarre beyond conventional tourism: to get to know traditions, support rural communities and contribute to the conservation of the territory. The programme is part of a broader strategy to turn the region into a European benchmark for regenerative tourism, a model that does not seek only to minimise impacts, but to improve destinations. For international travellers it offers unique, in-depth experiences aligned with sustainability.
