Spain 2026: Events and celebrations that will drive tourism

14 January, 2026

Spain faces 2026 as an especially powerful year for tourism, driven by a calendar of major cultural, sporting, musical events and natural phenomena. The combination of internationally significant events, heritage anniversaries and mass concerts strengthens the country’s appeal as a destination for travellers seeking memorable experiences and specific reasons to travel. This scenario also favours a more balanced distribution of tourist flows throughout the year and across the whole territory.

Among the main cities and destinations that will play a leading role in the 2026 tourism agenda are:

  • Madrid: will host for the first time the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1 (11-13 September) on a street circuit between IFEMA and Valdebebas. In addition, it will be one of the major musical hubs of the year with 12 Bad Bunny concerts between May and June at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium and four Rosalía dates at the Movistar Arena.
  • Barcelona: will celebrate the centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí and its designation as World Capital of Architecture, also reinforcing its role as a musical epicentre with Bad Bunny (22 and 23 May) and Rosalía (13, 15, 17 and 18 April).
  • Jerez de la Frontera: will be the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy throughout the year, with tastings, fairs and wine routes focused on Andalusian products and its winemaking tradition.
