Piñero opens an urban hotel in Palma
11 February, 2026In spring, Piñero will open its first urban establishment, Terreno Barrio Hotel, a project located in the Palma neighbourhood of El Terreno (Mallorca) that is founded with the vocation of integrating into the daily life of the area.
With 41 rooms, the hotel is conceived as more than just an accommodation space, backing an open model designed both for residents and visitors, with the local community and culture as the central pillars of the experience.
The aim, as explained by Lydia Piñero, head of asset management at the group’s Family Office, is “to revitalise the neighbourhood while maintaining its essence” and to give back to El Terreno part of what it has contributed to the company. The establishment is conceived as a complement to the neighbourhood, with communal areas and experiences that boost local life and the business fabric, under a responsible tourism approach that forms part of residents’ daily lives and does not depend solely on visitors.
Terreno Barrio Hotel combines the refurbishment of a historic building from 1932, the work of architect Francesc Casas Llompart, with a new construction developed under the Passivhaus standard and LEED Platinum certification, designed by the OHLAB studio. The project will feature a stable cultural programme, spaces open to local residents, a gastronomic proposal led by chef Gabriel Conti, café, rooftop and a club with cocktail bar and cultural activity. All the furniture has been designed and produced in Mallorca, reinforcing Piñero’s commitment to the local economy and the deseasonalisation of the sector.
