MSC strengthens its commitment to Spain with more than 600 calls
11 February, 2026MSC Cruises is strengthening its commitment to Spain after closing 2025 with solid and consolidated growth and projecting more than 600 calls at Spanish ports for 2026. For the company, the Spanish market has become a strategic axis within its operations in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, both for its capacity to generate demand and for the quality of its port infrastructures and connectivity.
The shipping company has progressively expanded its network of embarkation ports in Spain, going from three in 2019 to nine at present. Barcelona is consolidating itself as one of its main hubs, supported by the new terminal opened in 2025, which has improved operational efficiency and the passenger experience. Added to this are key ports such as Valencia, Tarragona, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca and Malaga, together with a strong reinforcement in the Canary Islands, where Lanzarote will be added as a new embarkation port from winter 2025/2026.
This expansion is supported by improved air, rail and road connectivity from numerous Spanish cities, facilitating access to cruises. In addition, MSC maintains close collaboration with travel agencies and promotes alliances aimed at diversifying excursions and better distributing flows, strengthening its integration into destinations and its contribution to tourism in Spain.
