Spanish company Amadeus drives the global digitalisation of air transport

4 March, 2026

The Spanish technology company Amadeus has signed an agreement with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to accelerate the digital transformation of air transport worldwide. The alliance, framed within the “No Country Left Behind” programme, is expected to present its first results in the first half of this year.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Amadeus and ICAO aims to strengthen the States’ capacity to adopt advanced digital technologies that improve the efficiency, safety and sustainability of international air transport.

Under the agreement, Amadeus will contribute its expertise in travel technology, digital identity, biometrics and data management, key areas for modernising airports and airport processes. The collaboration will help ICAO member countries advance their digital transformation strategies and accelerate the economic and social benefits associated with a more connected aviation sector.

Both organisations are working on a joint roadmap to deploy concrete initiatives. The programme’s first advances are planned for this year, with the aim of extending technological innovation on a global scale and strengthening the interoperability of the international air transport system.
