The 10 Spanish airports awarded for their quality of service
15 April, 2026Spain is strengthening its image among international travellers with 10 airports recognised for service quality at the Airports Council International awards.
Ten airports in Aena’s network in Spain have been distinguished with 15 awards from Airports Council International, which recognises service quality in different European categories. For international tourists these awards reinforce Spain’s position as a destination with airport infrastructure that is highly rated in the travel experience.
Among the award-winning airports are Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Gran Canaria, Menorca, Girona-Costa Brava, Reus, El Hierro, Pamplona, Vigo, Región de Murcia and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat.
Madrid-Barajas has been recognised as the best European airport among those with over 40 million passengers, while Gran Canaria has led the 15 to 25 million category and Menorca the two to five million category. In the under two million segment, Girona-Costa Brava, Reus, El Hierro, Pamplona, Vigo and Región de Murcia have been distinguished.
Additionally, Barcelona–El Prat has received three specific distinctions for staff friendliness, ease of navigation and overall atmosphere.
