Barcelona boosts the Sagrada Familia with record visitor numbers

15 April, 2026

The Sagrada Familia closed 2025 with a new record number of visitors, driven largely by European demand and by progress on a project that is entering a decisive stage.

Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia has recorded a record 4.87 million visitors in the last year, almost 1% more than in 2024, consolidating itself as one of Europe’s major tourist attractions. Among its main markets is Europe, which accounts for 15.6%, led by Italy and France, both with almost 7% of tickets and the United Kingdom and Germany, with 4.5% and 4.1%, respectively.

The basilica has achieved revenues of €134.5 million, driven mainly by tourism activity, of which €58.4 million have been allocated to construction works.

The basilica is also moving towards one of its major milestones: the completion of the tower of Jesus Christ, scheduled for next 10 June, coinciding with the centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí.
