Sleeping among trees: Galicia consolidates the Huttopia model

13 May, 2026

Sleeping among trees, travelling more slowly and reconnecting with what matters. That is the proposal with which Huttopia consolidates in Galicia its model of outdoor tourism, a formula that combines nature, comfort and a smaller environmental footprint. The French company positions its Huttopia Caminos de Galicia complex, in Lalín, as one of its key projects in the Iberian Peninsula.

Opened in June 2025 and reopened this season, the establishment spans 16 hectares at the crossroads of the Vía de la Plata and the Camino de Invierno. Following a €6 million investment, it offers 46 wood-and-canvas accommodations, with capacity for around 300 guests, along with pitches for campervans and motorhomes. Its expansion will increase the units to 79. A heated pool, electric bicycles, play area and cultural and family activities complete an experience designed to discover inland Galicia.

The model is based on reversible accommodation, natural materials, local collaboration and energy efficiency. With no air conditioning, and systems for composting and monitoring water, energy, and wasteHuttopia advocates a way of staying that is integrated into the landscape. And Galicia is thus strengthened as a nature destination with a strong identity, local value and a more conscious way of travelling.
