Tren dels Llacs: 29 journeys to discover the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees
13 May, 2026The Tren dels Llacs (Train of the Lakes) launches its 2026 season in Catalonia with an irresistible invitation: to travel slowly between Lleida and La Pobla de Segur, take in the Pre-Pyrenees from the window and discover three distinctive stops: La Pobla de Segur, Salàs de Pallars and Tremp. The route covers 89 kilometres over, two hours, an onboard guide and a landscape that combines river, reservoirs, tunnels and 75 bridges.
The season offers two ways to experience the journey. The Historic Train will run 23 trips every Saturday until 27 June, and from 22 August to 31 October, with the charm of vintage trains. The Panoramic Train will offer 6 departures between 4 July and 8 August, designed for those seeking large windows and a more immersive view. Tickets also allow you to return to Lleida on a regular train within the following six days.
The experience continues on land. In La Pobla de Segur you will find the Pyrenees Fauna and Nature Interpretation Centre, the Espacio Raier, the Molí de l’Oli, Casa Mauri and the Portet Liqueur Factory. Salàs de Pallars surprises us with its shop-museums, where traditional commerce is transformed into living heritage, while Tremp adds the Epicentre, the Hydroelectric Museum and, nearby, the Salt Museum in Gerri de la Sal.
