Air Europa speeds up boarding with new baggage gauges
8 July, 2026Air Europa has installed new baggage sizers at boarding gates to streamline passenger boarding and improve flight punctuality. The initiative, part of the Air Europa ON service excellence plan, aims to bring order.
The new bagage sizers allow both the dimensions and the weight of suitcases, handbags, rucksacks or briefcases to be checked on the spot. To this end, they have separate spaces: one designed to place cabin suitcases in a vertical position and another for baggage that travels under the seat, which is measured horizontally. Both include scales, so that passengers can immediately see whether their item complies with the maximum permitted size and weight.
With this measure, the airline aims to prevent excessively large items from entering the cabin, where they can hinder movement along the aisles, take up more space than expected and slow down boarding. The company is thus reinforcing a more comfortable and predictable travel experience, with prior control that gives passengers peace of mind and helps complete boarding more quickly.
