Six rivers for the most spectacular rafting in Spain
8 July, 2026Rafting has become one of the most exciting ways to discover Spain from the water. Amid mountains, gorges and green landscapes, several rivers offer descents that combine adventure, nature and a different perspective on the territory, away from the most usual routes, for active travellers.
The Pyrenees concentrate some of the main benchmarks. In Lleida, the Noguera Pallaresa crosses the Pallars Sobirà with white water and a mountain setting that have driven a wide range of activities. In Huesca, the Ésera offers stretches for all levels, with regular departures from Campo, Seira and Castejón de Sos. The Gállego River also stands out, with descents set against the Mallos de Riglos and Murillo de Gállego, making it one of the most popular places for beginners while still offering plenty of excitement.
Beyond the Pyrenees, the Porma, in León, opens the door to a setting of mountains, forests and towns with characters such as Boñar, Sabero and Valdepiélago. Between Asturias and León, the Cares offers an experience closely linked to the Picos de Europa, always conditioned by water flow and safety guarantees. The route is completed with the Deva River, between Cantabria and Asturias, which runs through some of the most spectacular landscapes in northern Spain and has become a highly popular option for combining nature and adventure.
