This is what the new Thompson Sevilla will look like when it opens
12 August, 2026Thompson Sevilla will open at the end of 2026 in the former La Gavidia police station, in Plaza de la Concordia in Seville, with a luxury lifestyle concept that will combine design, culture and local gastronomy. The hotel will have 101 rooms —79 standard and 22 suites— and aims to become a new meeting point for travellers and residents in the heart of the city centre.
The transformation will preserve much of the structure and layout of the building designed in the 1950s by Ramón Montserrat Ballesté, while incorporating warm materials, handcrafted finishes and references to Andalusian identity. The offering will include a rooftop with swimming pool and lounge area, a rooftop gym, meeting rooms and 240 m2 for events, distributed across four connectable spaces and an inner courtyard.
Gastronomy will be one of its main attractions. Grupo Manolo Mayo will move its restaurant to the hotel under the name Casa Mayo, with Andalusian cuisine, local produce and open-view kitchens. The lobby bar will function as a social lounge throughout the day and will feature a daily “Sherry Hour” around Jerez wine, while the Rooftop Pool Deck & Bar will offer drinks, wines, nibbles and Andalusian touches. With this opening, Thompson will bring to Seville a style of hospitality that is open to the city and connected with its tradition.
