Air Europa strengthens fleet, routes and maintenance
12 August, 2026Air Europa faces the next two years with a roadmap marked by operational transformation, expansion and a new line of business. After closing 2025 with record revenue and net profit figures, the airline has launched the “Plan +Air 28”, a strategy to strengthen efficiency, profitability and data-driven management.
The plan includes a reorganisation focused on the customer and on more robust processes, with initiatives already under way. Air Europa ON aims to improve the passenger experience by renewing services on board and at airports, especially at Madrid-Barajas, as well as boosting punctuality and fleet maintenance. This is complemented by CORE, aimed at consolidating efficiency as an internal standard, and a new Strategy, Transformation and Procurement division. The main innovation will be Air Europa Technics, a division that will integrate aircraft maintenance, provide services to third parties and prepare for the arrival of Airbus A350-900s.
The company, which currently operates 60 aircraft, expects to receive its first two A350s from 2028, as part of a firm order for 20 units, extendable to 40. Its goal is to reach up to 40 long-haul aircraft and a similar number of short-haul aircraft, subject to results, the market and Barajas’ capacity. The expansion will support a network that in 2026 has added Johannesburg, Geneva, Seville and Oviedo, as well as summer connections and upcoming flights to El Salvador and Düsseldorf.
