Campsites gain comfort with more bungalows and glamping options
9 September, 2026Sleeping in the heart of nature no longer means giving up certain comforts. Spanish campsites are strengthening their supply of bungalows, glamping accommodation and air‑conditioned spaces to attract travellers looking for outdoor holidays with higher levels of comfort.
The Spanish Federation of Campsites (FEEC) has confirmed that many bungalows were close to 100% occupancy in August. This evolution is accompanied by growing interest in air conditioning detected by Pitchup.com, also among European users.
Of the 245 Spanish campsites available on the platform, 49 offer accommodation with air conditioning, around one in five. Catalonia accounts for 20 establishments and Andalusia 14, so together both regions make up nearly 70% of this air‑conditioned offer.
In addition, almost nine out of ten Spanish campsites with air‑conditioned accommodation also have an outdoor swimming pool.
The trend broadens the options for those who want to travel to Spain and combine nature, outdoor life and services more similar to those of other tourist accommodation.
