Spain wins over British families in summer
9 September, 2026Spain is consolidating its position as the favourite summer destination for British families, taking the top eight places in the ranking drawn up by loveholidays based on reviews from its customers in the United Kingdom.
Cambrils, on the Costa Dorada, tops the list, followed by Santa Ponça, in Mallorca, and Puerto del Carmen, in Lanzarote. The top eight is completed by Puerto Rico, Fuengirola, Sa Coma, Corralejo and Benalmádena, all ahead of destinations in Turkey and Greece.
The Canary Islands is the Spanish region with the greatest presence, with three destinations among the favourites, while Mallorca and the Costa del Sol contribute two each. British travellers particularly value the location, service, cleanliness, gastronomic offer and overall experience.
The results coincide with a summer of strong demand from the United Kingdom. ABTA had already identified Spain as the main international destination for British families, with the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Canary Islands and Balearic Islands among the most in‑demand areas.
