British Airways will connect Fuerteventura with Heathrow this winter
9 September, 2026Fuerteventura will launch on 13 December a direct connection with London Heathrow operated by British Airways, the island’s first link with the airline’s main hub in the British capital.
The route will have two weekly flights, on Thursdays and Sundays, and will operate until 11 April 2027. It will replace the service the company operated from London Gatwick and will allow Fuerteventura to be integrated into the international network of connections at Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
The new operation particularly strengthens access from the United Kingdom, the island’s main source market. Up to June, 418,546 British passengers arrived in Fuerteventura, 1.43% more than in the same period of the previous year, according to data from Aena.
As well as facilitating direct travel from London, the move to Heathrow broadens connection possibilities for travellers from other European and international markets through British Airways’ global network.
