The International Maritime Fair celebrates European Maritime Day

11 May, 2022

The International Maritime Fair (FIMAR) has been included by the European Commission among its events celebrated on European Maritime Day, which will be held on 20 May. The fair is being organised by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s Department of Sea Care, the Gran Canaria Council Infecar, and the Las Palmas Port Authority.

FIMAR 2022, which starts on this date and will continue until 22 May at the cruise ship terminal at Muelle Santa Catalina, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, joins a host of other events dedicated to highlighting the importance of the sea and the blue economy for their countries across different parts of the European Union.

Events organised for European Maritime Day include beach clean-ups, guided tours of ports, museum, art and maritime-themed exhibitions, workshops and conferences, seminars, ocean literacy activities, eco-tours and walks in maritime heritage areas.

Alongside the exhibitor displays (public entities and different figures from the private sector), the International Maritime Fair will add a wide-ranging leisure and educational programme, with information sessions and activities both on land and in the water. From sea baptisms to excursions or workshops, all in an event that is free to attend and with a wide range of options for family fun.
