Ecostars will certify the sustainability of Hospedium’s hotels
8 June, 2022Hospedium is a Brand that has made sustainability part of its new corporate strategy, from both an environmental and financial perspective. This decision means that its hotels now have the opportunity to be certified by the international Ecostars hotel sustainability certificate.
The organisation awards ratings of 1-5 “Environmental Stars” to a strict selection of hotels that can demonstrate a low environmental impact. The achievement of this award gives hotels the opportunity to attract more environmentally conscious travellers (Booking.com found that 83% of tourists consider a more sustainable form of tourism to be “essential” in its 2021 Sustainable Travel Report).
Eco stars are awarded after a registered certification process which follows a simple but highly objective method. Multiple sustainability factors are evaluated, including use of electricity and water, carbon dioxide emissions, the management and recycling of waste, sustainable sources of energy, social responsibility and sustainable culinary options.
