The Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander returns to hosting congresses
15 June, 2022Visitors and events can return without limitations to the Palacio de la Magdalena once more, which is opening again after renovations improving the annexed stable facilities. Both spaces are key venues for tourist visits, meetings, travel incentive programmes, congresses and events tourism in Santander.
In a new development, Casa de los Guardeses is now available to host events during the off-season months when it’s closed to the public as a visitor centre, and will soon host the “Volar” (“Flying”) exhibition, organised by the Spanish Air Force Historical and Cultural Service (SHYCEA).
So far this year, 8,400 people – compared to 630 in 2021 – have taken part in the 570 guided tours of the Palace, which are being offered up to the end of April. There has also been an increase in the number of participants in conferences, events and on courses, with 4,723 since last January, compared to 802 in 2021.
In recent months, conferences for various sectors, including the medical-health sector, working breakfasts, congress cocktail parties and scientific-academic meetings have all taken place. There have also been extended visits to areas that have never been visited before, and work is underway on a programme of dramatised tours that will soon be available for visitors to enjoy.
