Las Palmas is the perfect city break destination all year round

13 July, 2022

There are a whole host of reasons tourists visit Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The city enjoys an almost constant spring temperature, with nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, and has a huge, protected urban beach, to name but a few.

Alongside the above, it boasts the perfect conditions for hiking, with both arid coastal volcanic landscapes and routes that pass through greenery. In addition, the Canary Islands’ capital offers visitors a marvellous historic centre characterised by its colonial style.

In general, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a commercial, industrial, maritime, colonial and tourist city. It’s also full of life, and its development hasn’t spoilt any of its charm. The Vegueta neighbourhood, Santa Ana Cathedral and Casa de Colón are all must-sees. And the same goes for the Canarian Museum, Pérez Galdós House-Museum, the Elder Museum of Science and Technology, and Castillo La Luz castle.
