PortAventura World to increase its capacity by buying nearby hotels

13 July, 2022

PortAventura World has announced a new strategic development in its accommodation portfolio with the acquisition and management of Hotel Atenea Aventura in Vila-seca, a town less than two kilometres from the resort. With this move, it will manage and run accommodation outside the current perimeter of the resort for the first time, marking entry into a new business model.

Fernando Aldecoa, PortAventura World’s general manager of operations and finance, emphasised that “it is PortAventura World’s first foray into the hotel management segment outside of the resort’s boundaries, representing another project within its strategy for constant growth and diversification. We aim to provide visitors with the most complete and diverse leisure offering, tailored to their needs and preferences, and the acquisition of hotels around the resort helps us make this possible”.

The four-star Hotel Atenea Aventura has 94 standard rooms and apartment-style spaces, strengthening the resort’s accommodation offer for the corporate events attendees that come to PortAventura Convention Centre throughout the year.

The company expects to build on this new accommodation model with other hotels in the area, as part of its expansion plan for the coming years to support and enhance the value proposition of PortAventura World. It currently manages six establishments with a total of nearly 2,500 rooms.
