Everything ready for the Zafiro Palma Marathon in Mallorca
5 October, 2022The Zafiro Palma Marathon in Mallorca is about to start. On Sunday 9th October, the marathon will take place whereby numerous international runners participate and which gets bigger every year, especially interesting as it takes advantage of the excellent autumn weather of the Balearic capital, with an average temperature of 18ºC.
The race will offer its participants the possibility of choosing between three distances: marathon, half marathon and 10 kilometres; It will depart at 8 a.m. from Parc de la Mar (just in front of Palma Cathedral) and most of the route will take place on the beachfront. Runners of 17 different nationalities are expected to participate.
Let’s not forget that in 2021, 97% of the participants of the Zafiro Palma Marathon in Mallorca reached the finish line. In addition, in this test the percentage of female participation is one of the highest in Europe, with 43%. According to data from The Guardian, the average number of female participants in the different marathons around the world is 30% and in many southern European countries is 10%.
