5 October, 2022The Alhambra in Granada is the most visited Spanish monument, with a total of 678,633 visitors in the months of June, July and August. A figure in which international tourism plays an increasingly important role, which contributed to raising the total number of tickets sold so far this year to 1,610,838.
As confirmed from the Andalusian monumental complex, although tourist data continues to be influenced by the health and economic crisis, this summer's figures are higher than those recorded last year, a summer in which the Alhambra sold 416,661 tickets.
In turn, the director general of the Board of Trustees of the Alhambra and Generalife, Rocío Díaz, pointed out that the crisis has changed the way of planning trips and has established a clear tendency among visitors who are committed to cultural tourism to buy short term and even last-minute tickets.
