The Sea City brings nautical tourism to Las Palmas
26 October, 2022The Sea City of the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria are working to improve the projection of the city as an international sailing destination. Both institutions have committed to develop actions which guarantee the celebration of national and international sporting events and to promote sailing as a sport.
The City Council have pointed out that it is about “continuing to work to improve the international projection and the nautical tourist image of our city with benchmark institutions, such as the Yacht Club, which help us to continue advancing in the objective of improving qualitatively the culture of the sea among the local population”.
This agreements aims to increase the number of international sailing teams and amateur nautical athletes who visit the Sea City as well as promoting sea sports, especially through the Sailing School of the Club itself, which will also be in charge of organising the adapted Canarian Sailing Championship.
