250 Spanish restaurants already have a Michelin star
7 December, 2022The distribution of 2023 Michelin stars has been generous towards Spain which has 250 prestigious restaurants with this distinction. And after years without increases in the superior category, two new gastronomic temples have achieved their third star: Atrio, in Cáceres, and Cocina Hermanos Torres, in Barcelona.
In addition, three other haute cuisine establishments have achieved their second star: Deessa, located at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid; Pepe Vieira, in Pontevedra (Galicia); and El Rincón de Juan Carlos, located at the Royal Hideaway Corales Beach de Adeje, in Tenerife.
Not forgetting the 29 restaurants which, with great enthusiasm, have obtained their first Michelin star and offer menus from €35. In total, the Iberian Peninsula has 1,401 restaurants with this distinction, of which the vast majority are in Spain.
The final balance is that, today, in Spain there are 13 restaurants with three stars, 34 with two, 203 with one, 39 with a green star for sustainability, 243 Bib Gourmands for their good value for money and 736 recommended establishments for the quality of its cuisine.
