4 cities in Spain that can be visited cheaply
7 December, 2022Rising prices in all aspects of daily life are forcing consumers to rethink their spending, including holidays. A study by the Omio booking platform analyses the 100 most affordable European cities to identify tourist destinations which can be visited on a reduced budget. The ranking is headed by a city in Spain and there are three others in the top 10.
The study takes into account the number of free activities, museums and tourist attractions; the price of a fast-food menu, a dinner for two or beer; also the value of the tourist bus or public transport, and even savings on bottles of water or mobile data, based on the number of public drinking water fountains or free Wi-Fi points.
So, among the 100 most attractive cities for cheap trips, there are 10 cities in Spain: Granada (1), Valencia (4), Sevilla (8), Málaga (9), Barcelona (11), Zaragoza (17), Pamplona (22), Alicante (31), Murcia (40), Madrid (41). Of these, the first four are in the European Top 10.
