Push for sustainable tourism with the support of the seabed

21 December, 2022

The Spain Tourism Experiences programme, launched last year by the Secretary of State for Tourism, to which Turespaña belongs, has resolved the first of the project’s three calls to submissions until 2023. Among the beneficiary proposals is 'Vive la posidonia' (*), which has received aid of almost 1.2 million euros.

The programme has a 100 million euro grant for three years, from 2021 to 2023, from the Next Generation EU recovery funds. Now the first call for a total amount of 26 million euros has been resolved. Among the benefited projects is an ecotourism experience called “Vive la Posidonia”, which will have a budget of 1,157,780 euros for its implementation.

The beneficiaries of this initiative are the municipalities of Cambrils (Tarragona), Denia (Alicante) and Ibiza (Balearic Isles). It should be remembered that one of the requirements to receive aid is that the proposed experiences can be enjoyed in at least three autonomous communities.
