You can now go to Alicante/Benidorm by high-speed train
18 January, 2023The AVE (high-speed train) Murcia-Madrid began its commercial service on 20 December. Renfe schedules 8 daily services, 4 in each direction, between both cities, which means one more service in each direction in relation to the current offer Shuttle + AVE. 2,824 places will now be available every day. Tickets were put on sale on 14 December.
The new AVE service will offer a connection between Madrid and Murcia from 2 hours and 45 minutes, for the four trains, 2 in each direction, which will start and end at the Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor station and intermediate stops in Orihuela and Elche.

The other four AVE services originate and end at the Puerta de Atocha station in Madrid with intermediate stops in Orihuela, Elche, Alicante/Benidorm, Villena, Albacete and Cuenca. Travel time for this journey is 3 hours and 25 minutes.
