Air Europa extends its fleet with the sustainable Boeing 787
18 January, 2023Air Europa brings to ten the number of new aircraft incorporated into its fleet throughout 2022 with the arrival of a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. With this device, the company complies with the expansion plan drawn up a year ago, which entailed incorporating five Boeing 737s and five Boeing 787s into the fleet. With the latest Boeing 787, there are already 23 units of this model available for long-haul operations.
The incorporation of this additional Boeing 787 makes it possible to cope with the notable increase in activity registered throughout the year, reflected in the recovery of routes and the increase in frequencies in connections with some of the most important destinations for Air Europa. In this way, the fleet, which is already at levels of available units similar to 2019, is consolidated with more sustainable models with greater capacity.
Throughout 2022, the airline has completed an important fleet unification process around two of the most advanced and efficient aircraft on the market: the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Boeing 737. Dreamliners stand out for being the most innovative aircraft in their category, not only for their technical advances but also for their ability to reduce both fuel consumption and emissions by 20%, as well as the fact that they reduce acoustic impact by 60%.
