Spanish airlines are the most punctual in Europe
25 January, 2023In 2022, Iberia was recognised as the most punctual airline in Europe by the international consulting firm Cirium, which has verified that 85.87% of its flights arrived on average within an hour. But there’s more: Air Europa, Iberia Express and Vueling follow in the Top 10, thus dominating the ranking of Spanish airlines.
The On-time Performance Report list, compiled by the firm specialised in aviation analysis, puts no airline from any other European country until fifth place, when Austrian appears with a punctuality ratio of 82%. This is followed by Norwegian Air Shuttle (81.29%) and ITA Airways (80.29%).
However, to properly define the ranking, we must take into account the number of flights made over the last twelve months, with Vueling flying the most, with 197,546 connections (with a punctuality ratio of 82.04%), followed by Austrian, with 95,708, and ITA Airlines with 91,841, compared to 91,154 for the Spanish flag carrier.
