Cabify will decarbonise its fleet in Spain

25 January, 2023

The Spanish mobility platform Cabify has presented a project to decarbonise its fleet in Spain, which will require an investment of 82 million euros, in which the European Investment Bank (EIB) will participate with a large loan. The project is financed under the Future Mobility product within the framework of the Connect Europe mechanism.

The project aims, more precisely, to help Cabify achieve its goal of net zero emissions in 100% of travel in Spain by 2025 and worldwide by 2030. The next step of the project will be “a tender in early 2023” to acquire a fleet of electric vehicles and deploy the charging infrastructure necessary for its operation.

The investment contributes to various objectives of the European Union, including the phasing out of combustion cars in urban transport and the promotion of a modal shift towards more sustainable alternatives to reduce congestion and pollution in cities.
