A new Gran Meliá urban resort for Barcelona
1 February, 2023Meliá Hotels International will take over the management of the former Rey Juan Carlos hotel in Barcelona, which will be added to its luxury brand Gran Meliá under the name “Miranda de Pedralbes”, as a tribute to the residential area in which it is located. Its location on the Pedralbes area, next to the exclusive Polo Club and enjoying exceptional views of the city and lush gardens outline it as an oasis of tranquility within the city for customers and residents.
The aim is to create an exclusive, high level resort-destination which gives customers an authentic leisure and lifestyle experience without leaving the city. The new Gran Meliá will enhance communication between the hotel areas and the magnificent romantic gardens of the old Melina Tower, which will be “integrated” into the hotel bringing light and life to its common areas; following the planned ambitious renovation, it aims to elevate the establishment and customer experience to the recognised standards of the group's luxury brand.
In addition, new leisure and gastro areas will be incorporated, including a spectacular roof top with the best views of the city, destined to become an essential meeting point in Barcelona, following in the footsteps of other bars and lounges which Meliá operates in the roof tops of hotels in Madrid, Milan and London.
