New members in the list of prettiest Spanish villages
1 March, 2023A further six villages have been added to the list of the most beautiful villages in Spain. As of 2023, three towns in Lérida (Catalonia) will be added: Durro, Arties and Garós, as well as Castrojeriz (Burgos), El Burgo de Osma (Soria) and Trevélez (Granada). Their exceptional beauty has meant they can be part of that exclusive network of Spanish rural areas.
The Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain, which has the support of Turespaña, carries out work to recover historical heritage, promote knowledge, preserve, maintain and promote tourism in these villages. This network is made up of 111 villages spread throughout Spain.
These places are far removed from mass tourism, perfect for an alternative and more serene way of travelling. Ideal for people who like to discover unique landscapes and villages, very much in contact with nature and not very urbanised. Tour operators are already setting their sights on this initiative.
