Madrid City Card, transportation, culture and leisure facilities for touris
26 April, 2023From early April, visitors to Madrid will have a new device to enjoy their leisure time in the Spanish capital. This is the Madrid City Card which combines the tourist subscription card with facilities to access around thirty tourist, cultural and leisure resources.
The project aims to improve the quality of visitor service, give more projection to the tourist resources of the capital and rely on a more sustainable tourism model, by including travel around the city through the underground network, suburban train and urban buses.
The initiative is in line with the guidelines of the 2020-2023Strategic Tourism Plan, which, among other objectives, seeks to be a leader in the visitor experience and the improvement of sustainability and digitisation, as explained by the Councillor for Tourism, Almudena Maillo.
