Granada makes its way into the luxury tourism segment

Currently there are five luxury hotels in the process of being built or renovated with a total of 400 rooms in Granada, soon be joined by the Gran Colón. A five-star establishment with 52 rooms, located in one of the most iconic buildings in the city, which will begin renovation shortly with an eye toward 2025 for its inauguration.

The city’s mayor, Francisco Cuenca, who visited the building on Monday to learn about the project, located on the Gran Vía, in what is known as the Cortefiel building, stressed that this new establishment is a leap “of excellence and quality” in the tourist offer, which has made Granada right now the second Andalusian city with the most five-star hotels, after Seville, which has 16.

The renovation will involve an investment of over 10 million euros and it is estimated that it will be able to open its doors at the beginning of 2025, according to the forecasts of the project architects. The councillor celebrated that the large tourism wholesalers are betting on this Andalusian capital, where six luxury boutique hotels are currently being built, renovated or refurbished.
