Turespaña encourages visits to the most unknown areas of Spain
24 May, 2023“Turespaña's strategy encourages exploration of less-visited areas of Spain, visits out of season and participation in low-impact activities. We celebrate nature and wildlife and the importance of connecting with local people and cultures, while minimising any detrimental impacts on communities and the environment.”
This was stated by the Director General of Turespaña, Miguel Sanz, during the recent celebration of Spain Sustainability Day in London and he reiterated that “we are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive destination which opens its arms to visitors from very diverse origins and social conditions”.
Spain Sustainability Day is a forum promoted by this Spanish organisation to show the best practices in sustainable management of tourism and Spain's commitment to sustainability before the British public. In its first call, over 100 journalists and company representatives attended and it was moderated by Richard Hammond, a famous journalist and writer on sustainable travel.
