Puy de Fou dedicates its new show to the Tercios of Flanders
7 June, 2023This season, the Puy du Fou leisure park in Toledo is offering a new feature: the 'Bodegón del capitán' inn, a mixture of a restaurant and a show in the historic village of Villanueva del Corral which pays tribute to the Tercios returning from the war in Flanders.
It opened its doors to the public at the end of May, adding to the 26 inns and manor houses already in existence. And, in the performance, the story of Alexander Farnese in the Flanders War and Captain Juan de Amberes, who tries to seduce Ana “La Galveña” with his fame and an unexpected marriage proposal banquet, is explained to the diners.
Available for lunch or dinner and with capacity for up to 200 diners, the “Bodegón del capitán” serves "local delicacies" such as game, Manchegan cheeses and torrijas for dessert, showing the park’s commitment to local products and the recovery of “traditional flavours linked to the land.”
