The Spanish MICE sector has a guide for sustainable events
21 June, 2023Ifema Madrid has published the first Guide for the Production of Sustainable Events, which aims to inspire organisers around the world to implement an experience in line with the contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals when developing their events.
This Guide contains a set of guidelines and advice covering all phases of the organisation and production of a fair or event, so that any operator can consult it and respect sustainability. The proposals are presented after an analysis of each of the essential points that can improve an event or trade fair from this point of view.
These suggestions start by choosing the ideal location, continue with the creation and planning, where sustainability must be taken into account throughout the entire process, right through to the assembly and incoming goods. And, as the date of the event approaches, the guide gives recommendations to be followed during and after the production of the event.
