4 of the 10 best restaurants in Europe are in Spain
5 July, 2023The prestigious Opinionated About Dining list has ranked four Spanish restaurants among the 10 Best in Europe. The highest positioned is the Asador Etxebarri, in Axpe (Basque Country), which occupies third position; followed by Bagá, in Jaén, and DEsde 1911, in Madrid, in fourth and fifth position respectively. And in seventh place is the Restaurant Quique Dacosta, in Dénia (Valencia).
In total, the ranking includes the 150 best restaurants in Europe, of which in 2023 there are 42 in Spain. This is almost a third, among the many countries represented on the list. Among them, there is Diverxo, named the best chef in the world, Dabiz Muñoz, in 15th position; or Disfrutar, in Barcelona and ranked number 18. Whilst Azurmendi, in Larrabetzu (Basque Country), is in 20th place.
At an evening held in June in Madrid starring chefs like Eneko Atxa, Nacho Manzano or Quique Dacosta himself, among others, the director of the guide Steve Plotnicki surrounded by chefs and food critics from around the world, unveiled the expected European ranking.
