3 Spanish restaurants among the 10 best in the world
12 July, 2023The ranking of ‘The World's 50 Best Restaurants’, which has celebrated its 21st edition in Valencia. There are three Spanish gastronomic temples in the Top Ten, in 2nd, 3rd and 4th position: Disfrutar (Barcelona), Diverxo (Madrid) and Asador Etxebarri (Atxondo). In total, there are six Spanish restaurants on this list, with Quique Dacosta (Denia -Alicante-) at number 20, Elkano (Getaria) at number 22, and Mugaritz (San Sebastian) at number 31.
Both Disfrutar and DiverXO have moved up one place in this ranking, as revealed at the gala held this Tuesday at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, where Asador Etxebarri has also improved its position, moving up from sixth to fourth place. The Spanish restaurant that has climbed the most in the list is the Valencian restaurant Quique Dacosta (Denia -Alicante-), which has entered the top 20, climbing from 42nd to 20th place.
Meanwhile, Elkano (Getaria) has dropped from sixth to 22nd place, and Mugaritz (San Sebastián), whose chef Andoni Luis Aduriz received the ‘icon award’, has dropped from 21st to 31st. In addition, Miguel Ángel Millán, from DiverXO, has won the award for best sommelier, an award introduced last year, when it was won by Josep Roca, from El Celler de Can Roca (Girona).
