Turespaña boosts LGTBIQ+ tourism to Spain
12 July, 2023The Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) has signed a new sponsorship agreement with MADO Madrid Pride 2023 to promote Spain’s international image as an open tourist destination with a diverse offer of leisure, culture, gastronomy and commerce for LGTBIQ+ tourists.
Turespaña met representatives, influencers and international media specialised in LGTBIQ+ tourism and in the traditional MADO Awards that recognise the important work of personalities, associations and public and private institutions in favour of the LGTBIQ+ community.
Spain enjoys an open, respectful and inclusive image which could adapt its offer to the situation resulting from the pandemic. For Miguel Sanz, director general of Turespaña, “tourism has been able to adapt and open up to all segments as it’s an industry which seeks to make people happy without asking them who they are, what they want or where they’re going.”
