Hipotels reopens Majorca hotel after making it more sustainable
12 July, 2023The Hipotels Mediterraneo 4* in Sa Coma, Majorca, has reopened after an aesthetic and technical refurbishment to improve its facilities by adapting them to sustainability and comfort values. Energy saving systems have been installed and air conditioning has been optimised. In terms of interior design, a new look & feel has been created for all rooms and the lobby bar, and the balconies have been refurbished.
According to Fernando Martín, Hipotels, technical director, the reforms have been used to “install photovoltaic solar panels, geothermal wells, Knx home automation in the rooms to optimise lighting and heating, fans in rooms and LED lighting.” The aim is thus to improve the hotel’s energy efficiency.
In this regard, it should be noted that the establishment already had smoke recovery in boilers, heat pumps, coolers and cold rooms with heat recovery. “Strategies to effectively minimise the carbon footprint have been systematically implemented and evaluated in our group for several years,” he said.
