Portaventura World improves customer experience with virtual queues

12 July, 2023

PortAventura World has begun to implement the InQ project, which aims to improve the experience of visitors while they wait to get on the attractions. The initiative’s main concept is to make waiting times more fun and interactive by offering specific digital games for that moment.

The first test was launched in June at the Furius Baco attraction in the Mediterrània area. Using screens located in the queuing areas, users can take part in a multiplayer game of the popular Pictionary. To join the game, they simply need to scan a QR code with their mobile phone. Other digital experiences will be introduced later.

The resort has also recently launched a virtual queue pilot, called Virtual Lane, implemented at the Hurakan Condor attraction. By scanning a QR code, customers are assigned a position in the virtual queue and are regularly informed of the time at which they can enter the attraction. In the meantime, visitors can spend this time enjoying what the park has to offer.
